I love the Irene part very much, but I never think that she just used Holmes, I think she love him too, just relationship between them is mixture many thing, and I think they come an understanding about it, you could see they care about each other very much, at same time, they are the most dominant people in their gender, so their get along with each other is unlike others people, therefor, they understand that, most important is they put each other in the heart, wherever is, what circumstance changed, they still care about each other.
